I am the proud daughter of working class immigrants. Before serving on the Council, I fought to protect public land and expand affordable housing. As a City Councilwoman, I have taken on special interests trying to buy local elections and delivered real results for working families.
I worked with residents to make rent increases above 3 percent per year illegal and expanded eviction protections for seniors being forced out of their homes. I passed a strict lobbyist registration law to stop pay to play politics and increase transparency at City Hall. I also supported small businesses by removing outdated laws that blocked them from advertising. I worked with our police department to improve support and response for victims of sexual assault and crime survivors. I am running for State Assembly because California needs leaders who will fight for affordable housing, support Medicare for All, stop corporations from buying single family homes, increase investment in public education, and defend our communities from federal overreach that threatens immigrant families. I show up, do the work, and stand up to powerful interests when our community is at stake. I respectfully ask for your vote so we can build a more affordable, transparent, and just California for every family.
